Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
